• Adoption of dogs is open to residents of Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, Powhatan, Cumberland, Fluvanna, Louisa and Goochland Counties, VA.
• Dogs that have been spayed/neutered are available for adoption to any location including out of state residents.
• Pet adoptions are carried out on a first come, first served basis.
• If you are interested in adopting a pet, an Adoption Application Form must be filled out.
• Adopters must sign a sterilization agreement to have the adopted pet spayed or neutered within 30 days of adoption.
• Adopters must return the proof of sterilization paperwork within seven (7) days of dog being spayed or neutered.
• A Goochland County Dog License must be purchased for any dog over 4 months of age.
• Dogs and cats must have a current Rabies vaccination.
